Individual counselling and psychotherapy for :
Anxiety is the mind and body’s reaction to stressful, dangerous or unfamiliar situations. It’s the sense of uneasiness, distress, or dread you feel before a significant event. A certain level of nervousness helps us stay alert and aware. It becomes a concern when a person regularly feels disproportionate levels of nervousness, and impact one’s ability to carry out life as normal.
Anxiety comes in a wide variety of forms, the most prevalent of which are listed below:
• Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) – a persistent feeling of tension and/or nervousness in the mind and/or body that has no known cause and unable to break free from.
• Social Anxiety – The fear and noticeable anxiety which are caused by extreme shyness and the idea of interacting and speaking with the public, strangers, or even friends.
• Panic Attacks – Intense physical and mental sensations that can be triggered by stress, anxiety, or by nothing at all
• Agoraphobia – The fear of going out in public, open spaces or being in unfamiliar places.
• Specific Phobias- Intense feelings of terror because of objects, situations, or animals, which often bring about disaster thinking or avoidance behaviours.
The list above is not exhaustive, and only a psychiatrist is qualified to diagnose one with a medical disorder. Please know that you do not need a medical diagnosis to seek counselling or psychotherapy support if your anxiety is preventing you from achieving your goals.
You keep feeling a generalized sense of dread and fear that you are unable to associate with anything in particular. A feeling of impending dread, like an undercurrent, tugs at you day and night. You’ve tried self-help methods, and while they temporarily relieve your symptoms, before you know it, your fear is back.
As you are aware that you are barely present, you feel even more self-conscious. “Can they tell how nervous I am?” “Am I behaving strangely?” These are just a few of the thoughts that cross your mind. As a result of the racing thoughts, anxiety and self-doubt rise.
Because of your anxiety, you are unable to make decisions. Going back and forth in your mind between this option, the next option, and the original option is torturous. Life’s once-simple activities now appear to be a huge challenge.
At Transform PsyCare, I will help you let go of the fear and self-doubt so that you can feel secure and at ease. You transcend from a state of worry and overwhelm to one of clarity, confidence, and competence.
In addition to equip you with coping skills for a tense body and mind, we also collaborate to heal the roots of the anxiety. You eventually experience a sense of stability and control.
